So I saw “Snow White & The Huntsman” today, and I have to say… Kristen Stewart, I am sorry for all past negative criticism I have ever given you. While people still attack your acting performance even after seeing this film (mostly for the comfort of the bandwagon; Asch Experiment effect and all), I know I have a new found perspective and appreciation for you.

I usually praise films for good stories/scores/performances, etc- but I seem to immediately tip my hat if a film brings to light something that I extrememly believe in- and wish was pointed out to society more often. “Snow White & The Huntsman” did that today in the scene where Snow White growls at the troll.

I don’t know what happened, but something inside of me soared while everyone else in the cinema thought it was funny/adorable. Maybe I interpreted it the way I wanted to- ‘cause isn’t that what the mind does? But I could not stop my heart from swelling with excitment at how I felt the scene. Maybe I should praise whoever wrote that scene instead of Kristen, but her deliverance deserves some credit of how the scene made me feel.

A point I’ve always wanted to find the words to express: that while part of our strength comes from our muscles, real courage and power comes from the soul. That your soul is bigger than your body.

‘Cause isn’t that why the troll stopped? ‘Cause he saw inside of her? The whole “You have eyes, Huntsman, but you do not see” concept? While everyone just sees a dainty girl feeling like she can take on a troll- just judging her abilities based off of her body- all those who can see recognize that the true abilities someone can achieve are found spiritually?

Maybe it was just me, but I was touched.

Favorite part of Snow White and the Huntsman: Snow is actually portrayed as a girl rather than a tomboy, even with armor.

The commentary on beauty and feminism were quite nice. This movie reminded me of why I love Sansa Stark so damn much. I’m not a girl, but imagining a world where all girls are basically guys is quite frightening.
